IMPORTANT NOTICE

CNNIC changed their policy regarding .cn registered domains. For ALL the .CN domains already registered they require the following documents:
  • A photocopy of the business license. Business license means the official document of the business, company or organization (such as company or organization registration).
  • A photocopy of the applicant.s personal ID. Acceptable personal ID may include copies of a driver.s license, passport, resident card/ID.
  • The .domain name registration application form., with the seal of the business OR signature of a representative from the business. For your convenince, we've filled in the form for you. You just need to print it and sign it/seal it. An email was sent to you personally with this form.

Q: My company is not registered in China, but in US/Canada/Europe/etc. Do I still have to provide these papers?

A: All companies (overseas ones too) that registered .cn domains have to provide these papers.

Q: You notified us to late. We need one or two extra weeks to provide these papers.

A: Try to send the papers as soon as possible. CNNIC might allow for some delays as Chinese New Year is on 14th of February, and they have some days off.

Q: Where do I send the papers?

A: Please send scanned copies to support@cnnames.net or fax to +1-866-618-5853. We have to forward the papers for you.

Q: X does not work here anymore and we received an email requesting a copy of his passport for the Chinese authorities. We cannot get that document.

A: Please send us the company business license and a copy after a different id. We will update the contact with this new info.

Q: We registered the domains before 14th December 2009. Do we still have to provide the papers?

A: Yes, you have to provide them even if you registered the domains before 14th December 2009.

Q: Has to be a Chinese business license?

A: No, we need your company business license (in English or Chinese).

Q: I have copies after my ID card and company business license. Were are the forms for the domains?

A: Please click on the links we provided in the previous emails. Print and stamp those forms and send them to us scanned. Our email address is support@cnnames.net.

Q. I registered the domains for myself, do I still need to send the papers?

A. Please send us a copy after your ID card and the formal registration form signed.
